Read nightly for 30 minutes and record books in reading log
Student Activism Project:
- Monday, February 8, we formulated our background statements and went through teacher comments and feedback on Polling Questions
- Tuesday, February 9, students' polling questions and background statements were revised and approved (there are still two-three students who need to turn these in). A table for data was created and students are now able to poll.
- Tuesday NIGHT HOME LEARNING: We started our flash draft and students are to work on their flash draft tonight, so appropriate teacher feedback can be given for Wednesday's writing time.
- NOTE: the flash draft is a simple first draft, this is NOT the final paper, but a starting point, you should not be spending longer than 30-45 minutes on this at home. The rest of the drafting will be done in class.
- I only need a starting point to give general feedback for research and composition of paragraphs.
- Wednesday, February 10, students will receives a TIPS FOR SUCCESSFUL POLLING resources, so that they can follow appropriate procedures for gathering data. They will also be using their flashdrafts with a peer editor to take a look at to see if they are on the right track.
- Wednesday NIGHT HOME LEARNING: Use the peer editing checklist to make changes to your draft.
- Be creative
- Be thoughtful
- Create a mailbox for your Valentines.
